CATHARINE ALVAREZ PHD
Founder and Director
Catharine is an experienced private homeschooler. She independently homeschooled her two children for ten years, starting when they were in grade school and all the way through high school. Both her children are now in college.
Catharine has a PhD in Applied Mathematics from the University of California at Berkeley. She is an experienced math teacher and tutor, and has worked with students of all ages and levels.
Catharine has completed six courses as part of the UCLA Extension certificate program in College Counseling, and she is currently working on her practicum hours to earn the certificate.
Catharine is certified as a tutor by the National Tutoring Association. Certification requirements include documented tutoring experience, successful completion of training webinars, and a background check.
Catharine is registered with BJU Press Testing & Evaluation as a test administrator and is qualified and approved to administer Stanford/OLSAT® and Iowa Assessments™/CogAT®.
